Review of Lanvin Fall 2024 Ad Campaign by Art Director M/M Paris and Photographer Steven Meisel with models Raquel Zimmermann, Bibi Breslin, Nanne Groenewegen, Maty Fall, Pierrick George, and Jun Yeong Baeck
Lanvin concludes its “Character Studies” series with a final intimate chapter that looks back on an era of rediscovery and gets us ready for the brand’s next big move. The campaign was shot by photographer Steven Meisel with art direction from M/M Paris.
The portrait series offers a final look at Meisel’s intimate exploration of persona that characterized much of the Sialleli era for the house. Anchored by returning muse Raquel Zimmermann, the campaign also features new faces, emphasizing a sense of the luxury of intimacy and individuality.
The “Character Studies” series in partnership with Meisel was initiated under creative director Bruno Sialleli in 2022, and provided a consistent backbone to the brand’s marketing and communication aesthetic during this tenure. Now that we await the first collection from new creative director Peter Copping, which is set to debut some time in early 2025, this final chapter puts a conclusion on this intimate era of nostalgic luxury that paid tribute to the house’s roots as the oldest Parisian fashion house. It also serves as a palette cleanser as we look forward to the brand’s continued renaissance, and hope to see Copping inject some new energy and life back into the iconic maison.
