Lanvin Names Andy Lew as Executive President

Lew Succeeds Eric Chan, Who Moves to a Director Role on the Board

Andy Lew has been appointed as the Executive President of Lanvin Group, taking over with immediate effect, the company’s board of directors announced Wednesday. Lew succeeds Eric Chan, who will move to a director role on the board following his tenure as CEO since the departure of Joann Cheng in 2023.

Lew will also maintain his leadership at St. John Knits, where his CEO position will remain unfilled. He expressed enthusiasm about his new role, stating, “I’m honored and excited to step into this role. Lanvin Group has been going through changes with the hiring of Paul Andrew at Sergio Rossi and Peter Copping showing his first collection for Lanvin in Paris next week. I’m excited to dig in with what used to be my sister companies and continue the evolution of the Group.”

The appointment comes during a challenging period for the luxury brand conglomerate, which includes Lanvin, Sergio Rossi, Wolford, St. John, and Caruso. The group reported a 20 percent decline in revenue in 2024, with St. John Knits alone seeing a 14 percent drop. Amidst these financial headwinds, Lanvin Group has been actively reshuffling its creative leadership to reinvigorate its brands.

Recent high-profile appointments include Paul Andrew as Sergio Rossi’s new creative director and Regis Rimbert, who briefly served as CEO of Wolford before departing after six months. The group is also preparing for the debut of new Lanvin creative director Peter Copping on January 26 during the men’s collections in Paris.

Further expanding its global footprint, Lanvin Group plans to establish a second headquarters in Europe, to be led by Lew. This move aims to bring the company’s leadership closer to its main operations, contrasting with its current base in Shanghai.

Lew joined St. John Knits in 2021. His tenure has focused on aligning the brand closely with its foundational values, a shift from the previous direction under creative director Zoe Turner. Under Lew’s leadership, St. John has ceased its New York press presentations but continues to attract high-profile clientele, dressing celebrities such as Sheryl Lee Ralph for the 2025 Golden Globes.

With a robust history in executive roles, including positions at Brooks Brothers and Authentic Brands Group, Lew’s move to Europe in the coming months marks a significant step in his ongoing commitment to steering Lanvin Group through its current transitions and challenges.
