Five candle fragrances reimagined through a series of surreal botanical artworks
Loewe Perfumes has partnered with Spanish artist Ignasi Monreal on a new series of illustrations and short films interpreting five signature candles from the Loewe Home Scents line. The collaboration explores the intersection of art and scent through Monreal’s distinctive visual language.
The artist created new works based on the Beetroot, Ivy, Marihuana, Oregano, and Tomato Leaves candles. Each illustration presents a surreal and immersive take on the corresponding fragrance, drawing on Monreal’s use of classical symbolism, digital painting, and botanical references.
In one image, ribbons of smoke from a Beetroot candle form Loewe’s Anagram logo, while the Ivy scent is enveloped in foliage. A depiction of the Marihuana candle includes a mirrored version of the plant, and the Oregano candle is surrounded by wax-like pools. A vivid tomato appears against a red-hued background to represent the Tomato Leaves scent.
Born in Barcelona in 1990, Monreal is known for his work across painting, design, scenography, and digital media. He has previously collaborated with international fashion and luxury brands and is recognized for his detailed and surreal style. Based between Madrid and Rome, he continues to develop a visual universe that blends fine art traditions with contemporary storytelling.
The collaboration is part of Loewe Perfumes’ continued efforts to explore creative interpretations of scent and nature through visual media.
