Review of Louis Vuitton Men’s Pre-Spring 2023 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Lina Kutsovskaya with Photographer Osma Harvilahti with models Anatol Modzelewski, Babacar N’doye, Cherif Douamba, and Delta van Melle
Louis Vuitton shares a delicate and understated yet purposeful new men’s campaign for Pre-Spring 2023 by photographer Osma Harvilahti.
Harvilahti’s photographs combine the candid, dynamic energy of street style photography with the composed introspection of portraiture, resulting in a set of imagery that feels rhythmic, composed, and thoughtful. Captured against the backdrop of timeless Parisian architecture, his young models move through the compositions with a sense of purpose, yet seem lost in thought. Sometimes the figures are in the process of stepping out of the frame and disappearing, creating a sense of everyday ephemerality. Though styling is mostly composed of soothing neutrals and blues, moments of red take on a poetic purposefulness through the photographer’s lens.
Seemingly simple yet alive with subtle details at a nuanced interplay of light and shadow, color and form, the campaign is a stylish manifesto of everyday men’s dressing.
