Louis Vuitton Taormina Resort Store and Cafe

Louis Vuitton Opens First Italian Café in Sicily

Louis Vuitton Launches Taormina Resort Store and Italy’s First Café

In a dynamic evolution of the luxury fashion concept store, Louis Vuitton has unveiled an innovative retail venture that combines fashion with culinary delights. The luxury brand has inaugurated a boutique and café duo in the upscale coastal enclave of Taormina on the Sicilian coast.

Named the Louis Vuitton Café by Timeo, this initiative marks the brand’s first foray into such a concept in Italy, an endeavor spearheaded by the flagship label of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. Situated on the first floor of the new resort-oriented store, the café operates in collaboration with the Belmond-owned Grand Hotel Timeo, located on central Corso Umberto.

Catering to patrons throughout the day, the café offers breakfast, lunch, and aperitivo services. Chef Roberto Toro oversees a dedicated menu featuring quintessential Sicilian treats like arancini (fried stuffed rice balls) and signature drinks such as the “Taormina Spritz.” Notably, Belmond, the renowned hospitality brand, is also part of the LVMH portfolio.

The Taormina establishment joins a series of resort boutiques Louis Vuitton has recently opened this summer in prominent destinations including the Hamptons, Saint Tropez, Bodrum, and Mykonos. These spaces spotlight the LV by The Pool collection.

Characterized by its interior design of bleached and natural oak, vintage furniture, glass shelves suspended from ropes, raffia wallpaper, and carpeting in a majolica-inspired style, the Taormina store showcases a range of fashion items. Visitors can explore ready-to-wear pieces, bags, footwear, and accessories from the LV by the Pool line, along with a special edition of the iconic Neverfull tote bag.

The collection’s aesthetic revolves around a palette of white and blue tones, reimagining Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogram through diverse interpretations, including watercolor effects and graphic compositions. The boutique also offers the Objets Nomades home décor and furniture collection, the Summer Resort City Guides boxed set, and the latest addition to the Fashion Eye book series, “Italian Rivieras” by Slim Aarons.

Louis Vuitton’s latest venture aligns with the ongoing trend of luxury brands launching pop-ups, ephemeral boutiques, and seasonal outposts during the summer season.
