The workshop, which will be its third in the country, is set to open in Texas in late 2026
LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault recently announced plans to build a new U.S. workshop for the group’s flagship luxury leather manufacturer Louis Vuitton. Set to open either in late 2026 or early 2027, it will be the brand’s third in the country, and will open near its most recent workshop in the Dallas area.
The group already has strong ties to the United States: it has four Tiffany workshops on U.S. territory, and generates 25% of its sales in America. The additional production infrastructure is intended to meet this increased demand.
The decision to increase and possibly shift production to the United States is likely also a move against potential tariffs that could raise production costs overseas. Arnault, who had a front row seat at the president’s inauguration, estimated during the first round of negotiations that high tariffs would necessitate increased production in the U.S. As of now, the Trump administration has plans to set a 15 percent tariff on imported goods from the European Union and a 30 percent baseline tariff on imports from China. These tariffs pose volatile conditions for the industry—LVMH’s strategy will be one to watch as groups and investors prepare to weather the challenges ahead.
