Review of Louis Vuitton Resort 2024 Ad Campaign by Photographer Jamie Hawkesworth with Talent Emma Laird, Chu Wong, Ida Heiner, Mica Arganaraz, and Valentina Castro
Baroque and avant-garde collide in Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2024 campaign captured by photographer Jamie Hawkesworth.
The campaign imagery situates creative director Nicolas Ghesquière’s progressive rewriting of feminine dress codes against the majestic landscape and Baroque architecture around Lake Maggiore, nestled south of the Alps between Italy and Switzerland. Hawkesworth’s photographic approach draws out the glow of golden hour lighting, painting the models as modern muses as they unite ethereal romanticism with forward-thinking energy, while the natural beauty and iconic European architecture stretch evocatively away into the background.
At once leaning into and subverting the tea-party-ready and rococo influences of the collection through its spirit of luxurious contemporary freedom, the campaign is a glowing and poised expression of Louis Vuitton’s signature style.
