Louis Vuitton Unveils Special Edition Formula 1 Trophy Trunk

The Brand Extends Its Partnership with Crafting Trophy Trunks for the World of Motorsports

Louis Vuitton has unveiled a special edition trophy trunk for the FIA Formula One World Championship, marking the 75th anniversary of Formula 1. This distinctive piece will be showcased at the F1 75 event at The O2 in London, where all ten teams will reveal their 2025 liveries in a season launch that brings together drivers, Team Principals, and fans for the first time in the sport’s history.

The trophy trunk, a result of the official partnership between Formula 1 and Louis Vuitton, will be awarded to the season’s best driver at the year’s end. Crafted in the historic Louis Vuitton atelier in Asnières, France, the trunk features hand-painted folding front panels adorned with a V for “Victory” and “Vuitton,” echoing the black and white check pattern reminiscent of Formula 1 colors and the finish line. Its interior is lined with black leather and microfiber to cushion the trophy, while the exterior boasts classic leather trim and the traditional brass corner protectors, lock, and clasps that have adorned Louis Vuitton trunks since the 1860s.

The Asnières workshop, where Georges Vuitton, son of founder Louis Vuitton, designed the first automotive trunks in 1897, has been integral to the brand’s long-standing association with automotive culture. Georges Vuitton’s innovation included the creation of “Vuittonite,” a durable canvas material designed to withstand the rigors of travel and the elements, which has evolved into the iconic Louis Vuitton canvas used today.

Previously, Louis Vuitton has partnered with the Automobile Club de Monaco to produce the Trophy Trunk for the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco™ from 2021 to 2024.

The F1 75 anniversary celebrations are set to be streamed live across Formula 1’s social media platforms, including YouTube.
