An intimate downtown celebration marks the debut of Nicolas Ghesquière’s latest signature design
Louis Vuitton marked the launch of its new Express Bag with an exclusive cocktail event in New York City on February 13, 2026, gathering friends of the House at Obvio for an evening shaped by music, conversation, and understated glamour. With DJs Museum of Love and Nancy Whang setting the tone, the event drew a cross-section of fashion, art, and culture, including Kish Robinson, Tefi Pessoa, Aimee Song, Quentin Jones, Ana Batlle, Recho Omondi, Madeline Argy, Derek Blasberg, Ivy Getty, Chloe Wise, Brooke Wise, and Amber Ridinger, among others. The mood was relaxed but deliberate—very much in keeping with the House’s approach to modern luxury.
The Express Bag itself reflects that balance. Designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, artistic director of women’s collections, the new signature silhouette is conceived as a companion for movement—both literal and imaginative. Express “symbolises the rise of transportation that blends adventure and wonder,” introducing a bag that feels sophisticated yet practical, feminine yet grounded. As part of Louis Vuitton’s evolving family of soft bags, it continues the House’s long-standing dialogue with travel, translating its heritage into a form attuned to contemporary life.
Rather than a grand spectacle, the New York launch favored intimacy and immediacy, allowing the bag’s character to emerge organically within a social setting. In doing so, Louis Vuitton reinforced the Express Bag’s purpose not as a static object, but as something meant to be carried, lived with, and taken along. It’s a reminder that for the House, innovation often arrives quietly—expressed not through excess, but through design that moves effortlessly between function and desire.
