Review of Louis Vuitton x Murakami Spring 2025 Ad Campaign with Photographers Inez and Vinoodh with Talent Zendaya
Louis Vuitton celebrates two decades of collaboration with Takashi Murakami through the launch of the third and final chapter of its re-edition collection, coinciding with the House’s 2025 Resort line. This latest release brings back the artist’s vibrant Cherry motif, a playful pair of smiling cherries, signaling a return to summer whimsy and bold, pop-inspired design.
Comprising more than 70 items—from bags and shoes to silk squares, charms, and even a bicycle—the collection reflects Louis Vuitton’s signature craftsmanship paired with Murakami’s colorful, imaginative style. A standout feature is the Cherry motif, rendered using multi-step serigraphy and new 3D-printing effects that give the design a glossy, tactile finish. The cherries appear across signature silhouettes like the Speedy, Alma, and Side Trunk, as well as in whimsical details such as cherry-shaped heels on raffia mules.
Also introduced is a new white Monogram colorway, offering a crisp contrast to the saturated cherries, and a blue denim capsule embroidered with cherries on pieces like the Pochette Accessoires, the Keepall 45, and summer-ready gifts including a fan and deck chair. “The Louis Vuitton × Murakami collection continues to offer creations to be collected and cherished—yesterday, today, and forever,” the brand stated.
Footwear highlights include Monogram denim ballerinas, cherry-embroidered sneakers, and the debut of a Cherry 3D heel on two styles: the raffia Cherie and the denim Lily. Additional accessories such as silk scarves and bag charms emphasize both lightness and versatility for the season.
The accompanying campaign, shot by Inez and Vinoodh, stars House ambassador Zendaya, who appears among oversized Cherry sculptures in a set evoking the Mediterranean Riviera. Dressed in key pieces from the collection, she brings the playful and nostalgic spirit of the collaboration to life.
