Lucien Pagès Communication Joins The Independents

The Renowned PR and Communications Firm Is the Group’s Latest Acquisition Amid Continued Expansion

The Independents, a global marketing and communications group, recently announced its fifth acquisition of the year, with the addition of Lucien Pagès Communication into its network of leading agencies. Known for its tailored communication strategies and public relations management, Lucien Pagès Communication has built a robust portfolio of over 100 international clients in various fields, including fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and the arts.

The partnership marks a significant milestone for Lucien Pagès, who has built a reputation for bespoke services and a personalized approach to public relations over the years. “I have known the founders of The Independents, Isabelle and Olivier Chouvet, personally for many years. We share the same core values of hard work and excellence, along with our love of the Cévennes, the place where I was born and raised. Joining The Independents, after 18 years of existence, represents a major opportunity for us. Our alliance will not alter the organization or the structure I have conceived with a specific philosophy. Moreover, this synergy will enable us to pursue ever more ambitious and innovative projects while staying true to our values, which includes my commitment to my clients and my teams,” said Lucien Pagès, the founder of Lucien Pagès Communication.

Isabelle Chouvet, CEO of The Independents, also expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. ‘’We are thrilled to welcome Lucien and his teams on board, as their expertise will enable us not only to create positive synergies within the group, but also to develop new perspectives in an ever-changing world. This marks the crowning achievement of a friendly and professional relationship that began some time ago, and it was the right time to make it happen,” she stated.

The Independents was founded in 2017 through the merger of K2, an Asia-based events organizer, and the public relations agency Karla Otto. The terms of the acquisition of Lucien Pagès Communication were undisclosed.

Last year, The Independents got a significant boost from a $400 million investment led by TowerBrook Capital Partners and Banijay Group. The group predicts revenues to surpass $750 million in 2024, up from $600 million in 2023, acccording to Isabelle Chouvet, CEO of The Independents.

The Independents has been actively expanding, with acquisitions including brand consultancy and entertainment company Sunshine and strategic consultancy Kennedy. In September, creative production agency Kitten Production and luxury tech firm Bureau Béatrice joined the group. Presently, the group comprises 17 partner firms employing around 1,200 people across 16 cities.
