The Luxury Retailer Debuts at 1 Bond Street with Star-Studded Celebration
LuisaViaRoma, a prominent name in luxury retail, marked the opening of its flagship store at 1 Bond Street in New York City with an exclusive cocktail event that coincided with the kickoff of New York Fashion Week. The evening featured a performance by singer-songwriter and actress Charlotte Lawrence and was held in partnership with Bolt, a leading checkout technology company.
The event drew a high-profile guest list, including Maggie Gyllenhaal, Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Damon, Amber Valletta, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Helena Christensen, Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez, Georgia Fowler, and Tina Leung. Attendees enjoyed Grey Goose martinis and refreshments from FIJI Water as they explored the 11,300-square-foot, dual-level store, designed by architects Claudio Nardi and Annalisa Tronci.
LuisaViaRoma’s New York store is conceived as a platform for modern luxury, while also reflecting the brand’s nearly 100-year creative legacy. The space is decorated with a mix of vintage and modern furniture, and like an art gallery, it unfolds with intricate details. Rich materials sourced from Tuscany contrast with illuminated product displays, while architectural abstractions highlight artisanal craftsmanship. Touchscreen computers integrated throughout the store seamlessly connect the physical environment with LUISAVIAROMA.COM.
For the launch event, culinary artist Laila Gohar created a series of gastronomic sculptures inspired by the store’s modern aesthetic. Hors d’oeuvres mirrored the colors and textures of the interior architecture, with abstract cakes echoing the limestone and clay featured throughout the store’s design.
Music for the evening was provided by Arman Naféei, the sound designer for LuisaViaRoma and former Musical Director of André Balazs properties, who DJed while guests explored the multifaceted space.
As part of its debut, LuisaViaRoma introduced its first art installation at the new location, featuring a series of still-life paintings by New York-based artist Curtis Kulig. Known for his “Love Me” message, Kulig’s current work challenges classical painting techniques through scale, color, and approach. The store’s gallery spaces will be used to showcase and collaborate with New York artists each season.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the opening of our flagship in New York, which represents LuisaViaRoma’s continued commitment to providing quality products and excellent service to our customers. This expansion introduces an exciting chapter for the company as we grow and connect with new communities, while continuing to offer an innovative and customer-centric shopping experience,” said Tommaso Maria Andorlini, CEO of LuisaViaRoma.
