Marc Jacobs Brings a Global Season of JOY to Art Basel Miami Beach

A week-long creative takeover unites art, fashion, and community in Miami’s most vibrant moment of the year

Marc Jacobs is set to deepen its global exploration of JOY with a week-long program at Art Basel Miami Beach, transforming the city into an immersive extension of the house’s creative universe. Announced December 2nd, the initiative continues the campaign’s ongoing celebration of self-expression and collaboration, positioning Miami Beach as a dynamic stage where contemporary art and fashion converge. From December 3 through December 7, the brand invites guests into a curated world shaped alongside artists David Shrigley, Derrick Adams, and Hattie Stewart.

Across the week, a series of activations taps into the playful yet precise visual language of the three collaborators. Highlights include a private debut of new works at the Botanical Garden, a live Converse art activation where visitors can transform sneakers into personal statement pieces through on-site stenciling, and a Moleskine customization cart offering complimentary notebooks envisioned with each artist. The programming also includes a Bookmarc signing with Derrick Adams, further extending the campaign’s commitment to accessible, artist-driven engagement.

First launched in September, JOY has evolved through a sequence of global installations and limited-edition collaborations spanning ready-to-wear, accessories, lifestyle objects, and cultural touchpoints. Artist capsules have reimagined signature Marc Jacobs pieces — from The Tote Bag and The Snapshot to The Mini Bag — while partnerships with Converse, Crayola, Gibson, Barbie, SHUT, Brompton, and maxbone have broadened the creative reach of the project. After takeovers in NYC, London, Paris, and Tokyo, the narrative arrives at its final chapter in Miami, where JOY culminates as a testament to the brand’s enduring belief in collaboration, community, and the boundless intersection of art and fashion.
