Brand Selects Iconic Venetian Landmark For June 11 Event
Max Mara has announced that it will present its resort 2025 collection at Venice’s historic Palazzo Ducale, oro Doge’s Palace, on June 11.
The Gothic architectural masterpiece is located in the central Piazza San Marco, adjacent to the Basilica and overlooking the lagoon. Originally the residence of the Doge of Venice, the palace was built starting in 1340 and has been modified over the centuries, resulting in a blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Mannerist elements. Since 1996, it has functioned as a museum within the network of the Civic Museums of Venice.
Details linking the venue’s richly decorated halls to the collection will be revealed next month. Max Mara is known for choosing landmark venues for its resort shows. Last year, creative director Ian Griffiths showcased the resort collection at Stockholm’s City Hall, an iconic symbol of the city with its tower and red brick structure, where the Nobel Prizes for Literature and the Sciences are awarded. Celebrities such as Amy Adams, Lily Collins, Demi Moore, Lili Reinhart, and Kiernan Shipka attended the event.
In previous years, Max Mara presented its resort collections at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation’s garden in Lisbon and at the Mezzatorre Hotel in Ischia, a former 16th-century watchtower overlooking the Gulf of Naples. Starting with the 2015 pre-fall season, the brand has held runway shows in cities including New York, London, Shanghai, Reggio Emilia (where it is headquartered), and Berlin.
This year, the Max Mara resort show will follow the Jacquemus 15th anniversary show in Capri on June 10 and will coincide with the first day of the international menswear trade show Pitti Uomo in Florence, which runs until June 14. The men’s shows for spring 2025 in Milan will follow from June 14 to 18.
