The three-day program expands into lectures and public access, deepening the brand’s cultural engagement
Miu Miu will stage the fourth edition of its Literary Club in Milan from April 22 to 24, continuing its investment in cultural programming with a focus on literature, feminism, and contemporary discourse. Titled Politics of Desire, the 2026 edition explores themes of sexuality, consent, and self-determination under the direction of Miuccia Prada.

Held at the Circolo Filologico Milanese, the three-day event builds on the format introduced in previous editions, combining panel discussions with new additions including lectures and expanded public access. The initiative reflects Miu Miu’s broader strategy of positioning itself at the intersection of fashion and intellectual culture, using literature as a framework to examine social and political issues.
This year’s program centers on the works of Annie Ernaux and Ama Ata Aidoo, two influential voices in feminist literature. Ernaux’s A Girl’s Story anchors the opening discussion, examining memory, identity, and the dynamics of desire and consent through a personal narrative set in 1958. The panel will feature Annabelle Hirsch, Lea Melandri, and Megan Nolan, moderated by Lou Stoppard.
The second day turns to Aidoo’s Changes: A Love Story, using the novel’s exploration of modern relationships and female agency to address the intersections of tradition, independence, and power. Speakers include Francesca Marciano, Wayétu Moore, and Gloria Wekker, with moderation by Nadia Beard.
For the first time, the Literary Club will introduce dedicated lectures alongside its panel format. Cultural theorist Olga Goriunova will present Desire After AI, examining how artificial intelligence reshapes human subjectivity and the direction of desire, while author Katherine Angel will lead a session on consent, questioning contemporary narratives around empowerment and sexual agency.
The program will also include live performances, readings, and a curated library by philosopher Rosi Braidotti, featuring a selection of feminist texts spanning disciplines and geographies. On April 24, the space will open fully to the public as a reading room, extending the event beyond structured programming and encouraging broader participation.

Conceived by Miuccia Prada, the Literary Club is part of the brand’s wider cultural platform, which includes film, art, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Since its launch in 2024, the initiative has evolved from a focus on autobiographical writing to broader examinations of education, identity, and now desire as a political force.
With the 2026 edition, Miu Miu continues to expand the format, reinforcing its role as a cultural interlocutor and positioning literature as a tool for engaging with contemporary social narratives.
