Cocktail Reception Held at Brand’s New Rivington Street Flagship Store
Monse’s Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia welcomed guests to an evening gathering in honor of Taraji P. Henson at the label’s new Rivington Street flagship. The cocktail reception served as a lead-in to the Met Gala, drawing a mix of creative directors, designers, models, artists, and entertainers.

The evening was hosted inside the newly opened retail space, surrounded by Monse’s signature deconstructed tailoring and asymmetrical silhouettes. Henson was the focus of the evening, as attendees raised a glass to her media career and ongoing presence in fashion. Her own wine label, Seven Daughters, was poured throughout the event, adding a personal link to the night.
Set against the backdrop of the brand’s collections, the reception also marked Monse’s continued expansion in New York retail. The flagship opening and Met Gala timing aligned to bring in a steady stream of guests, including longtime collaborators and supporters of the brand.
In attendance were Taraji P. Henson, Laura Kim, Fernando Garcia, Heidi Klum, Busy Philipps, Guram Gvasalia, Bronwyn Newport, Uba Hassan, Teddy Quinlivan, Phillip Lim, Matthew Berritt, Dorothy Wang, Ezra William, Lineisy Montero, Alina Cho, Jane D’Haene, Jean and Oliver Pelle, EJ Johnson, and artist David Aliperti.
