Mother founders Lela Becker and Tim Kaeding ushered in New York Fashion Week with a playful, disco-tinged celebration for the brand’s latest collaboration—this one with Saturday Night Live actor and comedian Chloe Fineman and her sister, artist Emma Fineman. The 15-piece capsule, inspired by a mix of 1960s American muses and European “It girls,” blends humor, heritage, and downtown cool.
Bar Bianchi, the charming Lower East Side café known for its aperitivos and Italian café culture, transformed into the evening’s scene—with DJ Mei Kwok spinning Italian disco in a faux patent leather two-piece from the collection. It was the restaurant’s first time hosting a fashion event, and the ambience delivered a cinematic glow worthy of a Fellini frame.
Cross-generational cool was in full view: Martha Stewart and Leni Klum made early appearances, while Chloe’s comedy circle showed up in force with Chloe Troast, Dylan Mulvaney, James Austin Johnson, and Liza Koshy. Busy Philipps arrived straight from Avenue A, joining Taylor Hill and Dynasty actress Elizabeth Gillies.
