The actress leads the Re/Edit capsule, a 24-look homage to the house’s most iconic designs, just ahead of Miguel Castro Freitas’ debut
Before Miguel Castro Freitas makes his highly anticipated debut as Mugler’s new creative director, the French fashion house is revisiting its past with a new archival capsule—and they’ve turned to a familiar face to lead the charge.
Sharon Stone, long associated with fearless glamour and Mugler’s sculptural sensuality, stars in the Re/Edit capsule, a 24-look collection drawn from the late Manfred Thierry Mugler’s ready-to-wear and couture archives spanning from 1985 to 2000. The capsule leans into some of the house’s most iconic signatures—tailoring, lingerie-inspired designs, and theatrical red carpet statements—all of which continue to resonate with younger audiences captivated by ‘90s and early-2000s fashion.
Stone famously opened and closed a Mugler show in Los Angeles in 1992, honoring the designer as part of the California Fashion Industry Friends of AIDS Project. Her commanding runway presence sealed her reputation as both Hollywood icon and fashion force.
The actress has long drawn a clear line between the emotional depth of acting and the performative confidence of modeling. In this latest campaign, Stone brings both to the forefront, embodying the Mugler spirit with cinematic intensity and unapologetic poise.
The Re/Edit capsule will be released this September through Mugler’s online store and select specialty retailers worldwide, just as the brand prepares for its next chapter. Castro Freitas, a Portuguese designer with experience at Sportmax, Dries Van Noten, and Christian Dior Couture, officially began his role on April 1 and will unveil his first collection for the house during Paris Fashion Week in Spring 2026.
The capsule is both a celebration and a bridge: honoring the theatrical, body-conscious legacy of Mugler’s founder, who passed away in 2022, while paving the way for a new era under fresh creative direction.
