Nordstrom Names Catherine Bloom as First Director Of Luxury Styling

The Veteran Personal Stylist Steps Into the New Role to Bolster the Retailer’s Luxury Offering

Nordstrom has announced Catherine Bloom as its inaugural Director of Luxury Styling. A veteran personal stylist, Bloom has worked with A-list celebrities, executives, and global elites while working previously at Neiman Marcus.

The retailer will be transforming its Nordstrom Local location on Melrose Place in Los Angeles into a “Catherine Bloom for Nordstrom” storefront. The space will serve as Bloom’s base to host and style her clientele.

Commenting on the appointment, Pete Nordstrom, president of Nordstrom Inc., stated, “Catherine Bloom is an exceptional personal stylist, highly respected in the industry. What’s also true about Catherine is that she is a genuinely lovely person who puts her customers first and works hard every day to serve them.”

Bloom has a reported $300 million in sales under her belt, reflecting her high-profile clientele. She is revered in the industry for her keen eye for detail, deep understanding of style, and exceptional customer service. With this appointment, Bloom brings her expertise to a company that has built a reputation for its robust service culture.

The transformation of the Nordstrom Local in Los Angeles will leave five more Nordstrom Locals in operation. These service hubs are located in convenient locations providing online order pickups, alterations, returns, exchanges, stylists, and gift wrap services.

On her appointment, Bloom expressed excitement about the collaboration. “And now after watching and admiring Nordstrom evolve and elevate and seeing how quickly they can pivot and develop new points of view with new and exciting brands, it feels like the perfect moment to bring my luxury expertise to their story.”

In rounding off the announcement, Executive Vice President Pete Nordstrom declared the company’s commitment to supporting Bloom in attracting and serving her customers. “Catherine will play a crucial role in fulfilling our purpose of making customers feel good and look their best. Bringing Catherine to our team is like getting the Michael Jordan of personal styling. We are treating this like a big deal because it is,” he said.
