Oxblood was a major color trend on the runways of the Fall 2024 season. Evoking drama, power, and sensuality, the rich wine-red shade was used by the likes of Erdem, Ferragamo, Gucci (where it is one of the house’s new staples under the creative direction of Sabato De Sarno), Hermes, Giada, Molly Goodard, and even Yohji Yamamoto.
While the shade’s regal and somewhat nocturnal quality meant it tended to make its appearance within more formal and evening-minded looks, today’s top designers made effective use of it across many categories, further illuminating it with textural impact or pairing it with blues, pinks, and beiges.
