Prada’s Efforts in Ocean Conservation
Prada Group highlighted the International Day for Biological Diversity with a special event dedicated to Sea Beyond, an educational program focused on sustainability and ocean preservation.
A discussion at the Broadway Epicenter included Emmy-nominated photographer Enzo Barracco, UNESCO-IOC senior program officer Francesca Santoro, and Meghan Marrero from NMEA.
Over 200 attendees, including writer Amy Sall, artist Cindy Sherman, and architects Elizabeth Diller and Felix Burrichter, were present at the event.
Santoro emphasized the importance of action and education in promoting sustainable practices, stating, “Photographers are strong allies as, through their art, they can inspire everyone to contribute to this collective effort.”
Prada Group’s commitment extended with a donation to NMEA, supporting the transformation of 16 schools into “Blue Schools” that focus on ocean literacy and stewardship.
Following the exhibition, the photographs will be gifted to these schools as part of their journey to becoming Blue Schools by September.
The program will continue with a second exhibition in Tokyo at the Prada Aoyama Epicenter in December, with the New York exhibit running until Monday.
