Applications open until October 17, aiming to support 10–12 feature films annually
Fondazione Prada has announced the launch of the Fondazione Prada Film Fund, a €1.5 million annual initiative designed to support independent cinema. The program was presented during the 82nd Venice International Film Festival at the Hotel Excelsior’s Venice Production Bridge.
The fund, which underscores the foundation’s two decades of engagement with cinema, will support 10–12 feature films each year across development, production, and post-production. Eligible projects will be selected solely on artistic quality, originality, and vision, without restrictions on geography, genre, or language.
“Cinema is for us a laboratory for new ideas and a space of cultural education,” said Miuccia Prada, President and Director of Fondazione Prada,
Through this fund we intend to deepen and broaden a dialogue with creation and contemporary experimentation.
Applicants must be production companies that can demonstrate both resource reliability and transparent financial management. Each chosen project will receive up to €250,000 in funding.

According to Paolo Moretti, Head of the Fondazione Prada Film Fund, the initiative builds on the foundation’s previous activities, which have included film restorations and collaborations with international directors. “The aim is to provide concrete support for works that often lack a place in market dynamics but are fully consistent with the research Fondazione Prada has been pursuing for over twenty years,” Moretti said.
Applications will remain open until 17 October 2025 via fondazioneprada.org, with selected projects announced between January and February 2026. Shortlisted works will be evaluated by an international committee of curators, filmmakers, and cultural figures.
The fund is overseen by Moretti alongside Rebecca De Pas, Project Manager, and supported by a network of international consultants spanning film programming, criticism, and production.
