Prada Linea Rossa and Red Bull Document Altitude-Gaining Wingsuit Flight

The athlete used Prada Linea Rossa gear and a custom foil wing during the El Hierro flight

Prada has introduced the newest chapter of Prada Linea Rossa’s collaboration with Red Bull, centered on a technical flight performed by Austrian wingsuit pilot Peter Salzmann in El Hierro, the smallest and westernmost island of Spain’s Canary Islands. Wingsuit flying, a form of skydiving and one of the most extreme air sports, relies on two essential components: a wingsuit that converts vertical freefall into horizontal flight, and a parachute for landing.

For the project, Salzmann used Prada Linea Rossa functional accessories and a custom-designed foil wing. By harnessing rising air along a mountain ridge, he achieved sustained level flight and an altitude gain — a rare accomplishment within the sport. During one pass along the ridge, he ascended 67 meters, the approximate height of a 22-story building.
