A new chapter begins as the designer prepares her Fall 2026 debut
Proenza Schouler has named Rachel Scott as its new Creative Director, marking a pivotal moment in the evolution of one of New York’s most influential fashion houses. Scott’s appointment signals a renewed vision for the brand, described by its leadership as a natural continuation of the label’s commitment to craftsmanship and modern American luxury.

Known for her cerebral approach to design and technical fluency, Scott brings a globally informed perspective and a clear alignment with the brand’s DNA. She is known as the founder and designer of Diotima. Since beginning her work with Proenza Schouler earlier this year as a consultant, she has collaborated closely with the internal team to shape the brand’s creative transition.
“Rachel brings a fresh and female perspective to a brand built on the spirit of the modern American woman,” said Shira Suveyke Snyder, who led the appointment. “Her profound understanding of Proenza Schouler’s brand codes, paired with her exceptional ability to marry craft with innovation, made her the natural choice to lead the brand forward.”
Scott’s touch is already present in the Spring 2026 collection, which was developed collaboratively with the in-house team and serves as a preview of the vision to come. Her official debut will arrive in February 2026, when she unveils her first solo collection for the house: Fall Winter 2026.
“It is with great excitement that I join Proenza Schouler, a brand at the heart of American fashion, and one I have long admired,” said Scott. “I hold deep respect for the beauty and world Jack and Lazaro so brilliantly crafted, and I look forward to bringing my perspective in dialogue with their legacy.”

Founders Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, who exited their roles as co-creative directors in January 2025, remain active as board members. In a joint statement, they welcomed Scott’s appointment: “Rachel is someone whose work we have always admired. Her trajectory over the last few years has been impressive to watch. As founders and board members of the company, we are proud to welcome her to this very special brand and excited to see how she will embrace and evolve the legacy and spirit of what we started.”
Scott joins a growing cohort of female creative leads across the industry and is poised to bring new clarity and energy to a brand long known for its intelligent design and downtown polish. Her appointment comes at a time of heightened momentum in New York’s fashion ecosystem, as American labels recalibrate their identities for a global stage.
