Review of Puma Mostro Ad Campaign with model Amelia Gray
As Puma writes, Amelia Gray is back for the second time in her campaign for PUMA’s Mostro, and this campaign sure is hers. Following the first chapter, Gray is back this time with sharper edges, new colorways, and even more attitude. With sound and light trailing behind her, Gray takes the silhouette into after-hours territory, transforming nightlife into her stage and Mostro into her co-star.
Originally launched in 1999, the Mostro has always lived on the edge of convention. Its design draws from two unexpected sources, a 1960s track spike and a 1980s surf shoe, colliding in a hybrid that was ahead of its time. Gray conveys this innovative design perfectly. She is like your best friend’s older sister–one that’s been on the cover of Vogue and in attendance at the Met Gala. She’s insanely cool, slightly terrifying, and your north star for style. The Mostro was made to move differently and Gray allows the shoe to do just that.
This second campaign with Gray introduces two new colorways: a hyper-saturated electric pink and a muted, stealthy black. Both channel distinct energy, pink leading with high voltage and black centered in controlled, calculated, coolness.
Captured in kinetic motion, Gray navigates club lights, mirror flashes, and late-night streets with an air of calm precision. The visuals build around rhythm and control, where the Mostro becomes less of a shoe and more of a feeling–sharp, offbeat, and unforgettable. The images are bold, confident and solid. There seems to be nothing that could shake Gray in her electric pink Mostro’s. Styled with effortless intention, the campaign highlights the shoe’s adaptability, pairing dynamic motion with sharp silhouettes and atmospheric tension.
PUMA landing Amelia Gray has elevated their street cred tenfold. In this campaign, Gray doesn’t just walk the streets–she creates her own in her electric pink Mostro’s. Streets we could only hope to stumble upon in the depths of our NYC nightlife, cool-girl dreams.
This isn’t a revival, it’s a refresh for an already iconic silhouette.
