The Vice President And Fashion Director Played A Key Role In Elevating The Retailer’s Designer Positioning
Rickie De Sole is set to depart Nordstrom, where she has served as Vice President and Fashion Director, after four years with the Seattle-based retailer. Her exit is expected to take place next month, according to the company, which did not specify a reason for her departure.

De Sole joined Nordstrom in 2022 as Women’s Fashion and Editorial Director, a newly created role at the time, before being promoted to her current position. During her tenure, she became a central figure in shaping the retailer’s designer identity, working across merchandising, editorial, and brand strategy to refine its positioning within the global fashion landscape.
Her role spanned multiple functions within the women’s designer division, where she brought a distinct point of view to the assortment and contributed to broader business growth initiatives. She also led the development of Nordstrom’s women’s designer editorial strategy, producing content and serving as a visible spokesperson for the retailer across industry events and fashion weeks.
“Rickie has been an important part of our merchandising team and has helped strengthen Nordstrom’s position across categories through her deep relationships across the global fashion community. We’re grateful for the perspective, creativity, and passion she brought to our business and wish her the very best in what comes next,” said Jamie Nordstrom, Chief Merchandising Officer.
“I’m incredibly grateful to the team at Nordstrom and proud of all we’ve accomplished together,” De Sole said. “While I’m sad to say goodbye to such a talented team, I’m excited to begin a new chapter.”
De Sole, the daughter of Domenico De Sole—chairman of Tom Ford International and former president and chief executive officer of Gucci Group—has maintained a strong presence within the international fashion circuit throughout her tenure.
Her departure comes as Nordstrom continues to evolve its leadership structure. Yumi Shin, formerly Chief Merchandising Officer of Bergdorf Goodman, is expected to join the company. Shin and her previous employer, Saks Global, were recently involved in a legal dispute related to alleged contract violations.
De Sole’s exit marks another shift for Nordstrom as it continues to refine its fashion positioning and leadership team.
