The Sacai x Carhartt WIP Fall/Winter 2023 collection has been unveiled, following its debut at Paris Fashion Week. The collaboration showcases sacai’s take on classic workwear staples, leveraging Carhartt WIP’s renowned heritage. The initial announcement of this partnership garnered significant attention, particularly due to Chitose Abe’s distinctive approach to blending diverse styles.
For this collection, sacai integrates its iconic nylon twill fabric with Carhartt WIP’s signature duck fabric jackets, employing a classic knit technique. The designs, characterized by layered looks and a rich palette, reinvent workwear for modern daily wear. The pieces exemplify a harmonious blend of deconstruction and unity, as the traditional chore jacket gets reinterpreted with sacai’s unique touch.
Both brands’ strengths shine through in the collaboration, merging unexpected materials and textures to craft distinct silhouettes. As the colder months approach, the collection features layered combinations, such as sacai’s bomber jacket paired with Carhartt WIP’s corduroy-collared leather jacket. The collection is rounded out with fleece-enhanced teddy coats, wool-braided cardigans, and knitwear, all adorned with Carhartt WIP’s recognizable logo and available in classic khaki, light blue, and black.
The sacai x Carhartt WIP FW23 collection will be available from September 8 at select retailers and online.
