Saks Fifth Avenue Kicks Off New York Fashion Week with Star-Studded Event

Caroline Polachek performs at a night filled with celebrities, designers, and industry leaders

Saks Fifth Avenue opened New York Fashion Week with an exclusive event hosted by Saks Global President & Chief Commercial Officer Emily Essner at Crane Club Restaurant. The evening featured a performance by Caroline Polachek and music by French DJ duo Doppelganger Paris, setting the tone for the upcoming fashion shows and trend highlights.

“Saks style” was on full display as designers, celebrities, and industry figures gathered for the evening. “We are thrilled to kick off New York Fashion Week in true Saks style with so many of our friends, designer partners, and clients,” said Essner. “This event is a special moment to celebrate the innovation and creativity that defines New York as a global fashion capital, and we look forward to inspiring our community through this memorable occasion that exemplifies Saks’ reputation as a leader in luxury.”

Polachek performed a set including Bunny Is A Rider, Sunset, and So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings, dressed in Saks-curated looks from Maison Margiela, Issey Miyake, Neous, and Kiki de Montparnasse. Doppelganger Paris kept the energy high with their DJ set as guests celebrated throughout the night.

Crane Club’s interior, featuring floor-to-ceiling burgundy velvet drapes, created an intimate atmosphere. Guests were served a selection of canapés, caviar, pasta, and a raw seafood bar. Saks’ signature champagne tower was joined by a martini tower, serving as a focal point for the event.

The night concluded with desserts, custom Saks pizza boxes, and Saks-branded to-go meals. Attendees included Laura Harrier, Alex Consani, Thomas Doherty, Hari Nef, The Dare, Louisa Jacobson, Prabal Gurung, Chanel Iman, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Rachel Scott, and many others.

With this kickoff event, Saks Fifth Avenue set the stage for a week of runway shows and fashion moments, reinforcing its place as a key player in luxury fashion.
