Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty Expands Mental Health Efforts With 2025 Summit

Rare Beauty Amplifies Mental Health Conversations With 2025 Summit

Rare Beauty is set to host its fourth annual Mental Health Summit on May 1, deepening the brand’s ongoing commitment to mental health advocacy. The event, which will take place in downtown Los Angeles, builds on Rare Beauty’s broader mission to promote open dialogue around self-acceptance and mental well-being, particularly among younger generations.

Founded by Selena Gomez, Rare Beauty has positioned mental health support as a core pillar since its 2020 launch. Through the Rare Impact Fund, the brand has raised over $20 million to date, largely by allocating 1 percent of all Rare Beauty sales to support mental health services. So far, the fund has backed 30 organizations across five continents, aiming to reach nearly 1.9 million young people annually. Rare Beauty has set an ambitious long-term goal of raising $100 million.

The 2025 summit expects to welcome approximately 175 participants for a day of interactive conversations focused on mental health and self-acceptance. The event will close with a fireside chat featuring British life coach and podcaster Jay Shetty, continuing the format of last year’s New York summit.

Speaking on the initiative, Elyse Cohen, president of the Rare Impact Fund, emphasized the growing urgency around mental health challenges facing Gen Z, and the role of the summit in encouraging honest conversations and breaking stigmas.

Gomez, who has been open about her own mental health journey, founded Rare Beauty with the intent to create a beauty brand that champions authenticity and emotional well-being alongside product innovation. This year’s summit marks another step in the company’s efforts to move beyond traditional beauty marketing and foster a larger cultural conversation around mental health.
