Leadership Shift at Jil Sander as Brunschwig Steps Down
Serge Brunschwig is stepping down from his dual roles as CEO of Jil Sander and chief strategy officer of OTB Group, just six months after his appointment. His departure comes shortly before the debut of creative director Simone Bellotti’s first collection for the brand, marking a transitional moment for the minimalist luxury house.
Brunschwig, a veteran of the LVMH ecosystem, brought decades of experience to OTB, having led Fendi as chairman and CEO and previously holding executive roles at Dior Homme, Céline, and Louis Vuitton. His appointment earlier this year was positioned as part of a broader effort by OTB to elevate Jil Sander’s global footprint and refine the brand’s strategic trajectory within the group’s luxury portfolio.
In a LinkedIn post, Brunschwig described his tenure as a “mission” to prepare the brand for its next chapter, citing appreciation for the team and its commitment to Jil Sander’s design codes of purity and modern classicism. The company confirmed his exit was for personal reasons.
Ubaldo Minelli, CEO of OTB Group, will assume Brunschwig’s responsibilities as the brand maintains its course. The group emphasized its focus on continuity and its ongoing commitment to partners and stakeholders.
Jil Sander’s upcoming collection under Bellotti—formerly of Bally—will be the first since the departure of co-creative directors Lucie and Luke Meier. With a new creative direction taking shape and a reset in executive leadership, the brand’s next phase will be closely watched as a litmus test for OTB’s ability to scale a quieter luxury name amid heightened global competition.
OTB Group, founded by Renzo Rosso, owns a roster of independent-minded labels including Maison Margiela, Marni, Diesel, Viktor & Rolf, and holds a stake in Amiri.
