Stella McCartney Appoints Amandine Ohayon as New CEO

Ohayon Brings Extensive Luxury Experience to Drive Sustainable Growth

Stella McCartney has tapped Amandine Ohayon as its new chief executive officer, effective from December 1st. This strategic appointment comes as Ohayon, a seasoned executive in the luxury fashion and beauty sector, steps into a pivotal role at the renowned fashion house.

With over 25 years in the industry, Ohayon’s career spans prominent positions at YSL Beauty, Armani Beauty, and most recently as CEO of Pronovias. Her tenure at Pronovias was marked by a strong focus on sustainability, a quality that aligns with Stella McCartney’s core values. Ohayon also played a significant role in the company’s sale to Bain Capital earlier this year.

Based in London, Ohayon will report directly to the Stella McCartney board, succeeding Gabriele Maggio, who departs after a four-year stint to explore new ventures. Her expertise in fostering profitable growth and business transformation is expected to be instrumental in steering Stella McCartney towards new heights.

Designer Stella McCartney expressed confidence in Ohayon’s appointment, highlighting her leadership skills, extensive experience, and commitment to ethical fashion as key to driving the brand’s future success.

In her statement, Ohayon echoed McCartney’s sentiments, emphasizing the brand’s embodiment of sustainable luxury and ethical fashion. She expressed enthusiasm for further innovating and expanding the company while maintaining its commitment to conscious and value-driven growth.

Ohayon’s academic background includes an MBA in luxury from France’s ESSEC business school. Her significant achievements in the beauty industry, notably as the managing director of L’Oréal Luxe for the U.K. and Ireland, have prepared her well for her new role at Stella McCartney.

During her time at Pronovias, Ohayon spearheaded several sustainability initiatives, including the launch of Second Life and We Do Eco. These programs focused on creating bridal gowns with an extended lifecycle and utilizing eco-friendly materials, reflecting her dedication to environmental consciousness in the fashion industry.

As Stella McCartney welcomes Amandine Ohayon to her new role, the brand looks forward to a period of innovative leadership and continued commitment to sustainable luxury fashion.
