Art And Fashion Merge As Jeff Koons And Stella McCartney Present A Capsule Highlighting Their Creative Dialogue
At the Stella McCartney Winter 2025 runway presentation, a limited-edition t-shirt was introduced, marking the latest collaboration between designer Stella McCartney and artist Jeff Koons. The release underscores a continued exchange between the two figures, rooted in a long-standing friendship and creative alignment.
The garment combines Koons’ artwork Untitled (Girl with Dolphin and Monkey) with McCartney’s “Slippery When Wet” slogan. The phrase originates from McCartney’s debut runway collection in 2001. According to the brand, the t-shirt offers “a message pulled from her first-ever runway collection in 2001,” describing it as “playful, sexy and with a nod to a shared love of animals.”
The collaboration is not the duo’s first. Previous joint efforts include a Rabbit pendant necklace released in 2005, prints featured in McCartney’s Summer 2006 collection, and a ‘K is for Kind’ t-shirt for the McCartney A to Z Manifesto in 2020. The latter supported the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children.
The newly unveiled t-shirt, produced from organic cotton, will be available for purchase starting August 21, 2025. A broader capsule collection expanding on this partnership is scheduled for release in January 2026, as part of McCartney’s Spring 2026 lineup.
