Stella McCartney’s ‘Stellabration’ Lights Up Selfridges

Stella McCartney’s ‘Stellabration’ Lights Up Selfridges with Sustainable Holiday Cheer

This December, Selfridges transforms into a captivating festive spectacle titled ‘Showtime!’, featuring Stella McCartney’s pioneering ‘Stellabration’ installation at the renowned Corner Shop. From 11th to 28th December 2023, visitors can immerse themselves in a vibrant celebration of light, joy, and nostalgia, where sustainable fashion meets art in an enchanting holiday setting.

The highlight of ‘Stellabration’ is The Lucky Light Show, a dazzling array of repurposed neon lights from past Stella McCartney Christmas events, embracing sustainability by reducing holiday waste. Accompanying this visual feast is a carefully curated capsule of Stella McCartney designs, characterized by iconic star motifs and eco-friendly materials. This exclusive collection spans across ready-to-wear, Stella McCartney Kids, and vegan accessories, all in harmony with the brand’s commitment to sustainability.

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Stella McCartney and Veuve Clicquot unveil a unique collection of bags and footwear, innovatively crafted using grape by-products from the Champagne Maison’s harvest and recycled cork. These exclusive pieces, including a debut fashion Champagne bottle holder, can be pre-ordered only at Selfridges, alongside limited-edition Veuve Clicquot ice jackets with personalized Stellabration messages.

Adding to the allure, British artist Andrew Logan presents an exclusive edit of wearable art, created from recycled and recyclable glass for Stellabration. His connection with Stella McCartney dates back to childhood, further solidified by their recent collaboration at Paris Fashion Week. Complementing this, light artist Chris Levine showcases ‘InterStella’, an original artwork inspired by the installation’s neon and starry themes.

‘Stellabration’ is a testament to eco-conscious festivity, with most materials used in its setup being recycled, recyclable, or biodegradable. This initiative highlights the critical need for waste reduction during the festive season, a time when waste significantly increases. Selfridges continues its tradition of sustainability by reusing previous years’ decorations in its Christmas windows and in-store displays, including a repurposed giant moon and Santa’s gold car, originally featured as Barbie’s car in a July Corner Shop takeover.

Experience the magic of Stella McCartney’s Stellabration at the Selfridges Corner Shop, a unique blend of sustainable innovation and festive glamour, open to the public from 11th to 28th December.
