Swarovski Names Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert as Creative Director


The bright and shiny world of Swarovski is about to gain more shine as the house has appointed Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert as its first-ever company-wide Creative Director.

Engelbert will oversee the full creative direction of the company and reimagine the product portfolio across all divisions. The first product range designed by Engelbert will be showcased in the Spring 2021 collection.

For decades, Swarovski has been illuminating the world of fashion, design, entertainment, in general the whole creative industry. I am thrilled to be leading the creative vision of a cultural powerhouse like Swarovski in the future

The move is an important one for the Austrian house celebrating its 125th anniversary. Run by the fifth generation of family members, with Robert Buchbauer (CEO), Nadja Swarovski and Mathias Margreiter in the Executive Board, the brand with a turnover of 2.7 billion euros and 29,000 employees worldwide has become the world’s leading crystal and jewelry manufacturer.  

Know on the industry fashion circuit as an uber-creative, Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert is an Italian Creative Director, international Editor and Fashion Consultant with over 20 years of experience. Born and raised in Milan, Giovanna has worked with global luxury brands on their ongoing creative and sustainable transformation of products, imagery, retail, organizations, and marketing campaigns.
