Glittering and Cinematic Romance at Tamara Ralph
For her latest collection, Tamara Ralph ventured into a romantic exploration of Parisian charm. Following two seasons marked by armor-inspired designs that celebrated feminine fortitude, this fall she returned to Paris with a collection that sings of love and the city’s timeless allure.
The show opened with a nod to classic French cinema, featuring a pencil dress in houndstooth paired with a quaint pillbox hat and veil, reminiscent of the Nouvelle Vague’s iconic black-and-white aesthetics. The lineup included fishtail skirts and peplum jackets, alongside sweeping necklines and strategic draping that emphasized the body’s curves.
Velvet gowns in jet black adorned with vertical, shimmering embroideries conjured images of the Eiffel Tower sparkling at night as seen from a swiftly moving taxi. Designs featuring all-over mirrors paid homage to Paris’s opulent Art Deco interiors. Meanwhile, pleated chiffon palazzo pants coupled with a tweed jacket trimmed with ostrich feathers injected a modern flair into the collection.
