The Attico Opens First Seoul Store Inside The Galleria

New space combines mid-century Milanese design with vintage furnishings and architectural contrasts

The Attico has opened its first retail location in South Korea, introducing The Library concept inside The Galleria Department Store in Seoul’s Gangnam district. The store is the second installment in the brand’s Floorplan project, which envisions each location as a different room within a global, multi-city “apartment.” Following the debut of The Bathroom in Ibiza in June, The Library draws on Seoul’s cultural character while paying homage to Italy’s design heritage.

Dark ribbed wood paneling, inspired by mid-century Milanese interiors, lines the walls and built-in bookcases, creating a quiet, refined setting. These warm surfaces contrast with hand-finished brutalist concrete in soft grey, used for transitional areas and ceilings, and a backlit green onyx wall at the entrance, which serves as a visual focal point. Brushed steel fixtures provide a modern counterpoint, while olive velvet carpeting and vintage furnishings, including Alky armchairs by Giancarlo Piretti, add softness and intimacy.

The space is designed to blur the line between home and store, encouraging visitors to explore and linger. According to founders Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini, each store in The Floorplan series will be tailored to its location, reflecting both the multifaceted nature of the brand and the cultural essence of the host city.
