This autumn, dunhill partnered with Frieze Masters to bring the much-celebrated content programme, Frieze Masters Talks, back to the fair for the first time since 2019.
The Frieze Masters Talks, in partnership with dunhill, examined how the past impacts the future, how the historical influences the contemporary; a core message that runs deep within the House’s DNA, and a platform for how dunhill, as it celebrates its 130th anniversary this year, designs for its consumers of tomorrow.
Kicking-off on Friday 6th October and taking place across the duration of Frieze Masters, the talks were curated by Dr Nicholas Cullinan, Director of the National Portrait Gallery, and hosted within dunhill’s design-led lounge at the fair.
Pairing influential international artists, such as Maggi Hambling and Sarah Lucas with leading industry figures, Sheena Wagstaff and Louisa Buck, the talks series comprised several illuminating discussions across the five-day fair, exploring connections between historical art and contemporary practice. The partnership further cemented the House’s new vision and direction in terms of supporting cultural legacy and creating intelligent conversations.
Documenting the discussions, each talk was recorded, and the resulting podcast series will be released weekly and started on Friday 24th November, proliferating the conversations, and making them available to a wider audience.
The eight-episode series will encompass the insightful panel discussions hosted across Bourdon House, dunhill’s flagship boutique in the heart of Mayfair, the dunhill lounge within the Frieze Masters fair, alongside the special late night talks at the National Portrait Gallery, including such prolific names as Tim Marlow, Thomas J Price, Tim Walker and Gilbert & George.
