Tommy Hilfiger to Show at New York Fashion Week on MV John F. Kennedy Ferry
Tommy Hilfiger will return to New York Fashion Week for his spring 2025 show on Sept. 8 at 6:30 p.m. The show will take place aboard the MV John F. Kennedy, a decommissioned ferry.
Originally, Hilfiger was not on the official CFDA schedule that was released last week. NYFW runs Sept. 6 through 11.
“New York City is the birthplace of the American dream, and the Staten Island Ferry represents the gateway to self-expression for so many across history,” said Tommy Hilfiger. “By hosting this year’s show aboard the MV John F. Kennedy, we will celebrate the quintessential New York City landmark, while writing our nautical-inspired codes firmly into the vessel’s iconic legacy,” he said.
Last February, Hilfiger returned to NYFW with a show at Grand Central’s Oyster Bar. The show featured Questlove as his DJ and Jon Batiste during the finale.
The ferry, named after John F. Kennedy, shuttled commuters between Manhattan and Staten Island from 1965 until August 2021. It was recently purchased by Pete Davidson and Colin Jost to be converted into an entertainment venue.
Hilfiger’s firm stated the ferry’s original interiors will serve as the perfect stage for the fashion show, marking a farewell to its past role and celebrating its future transformation.
Hilfiger’s show will no longer be see now, buy now, aligning once again with the traditional fashion calendar. The preliminary NYFW schedule features over 60 confirmed runway shows and designer presentations.
Designers showing during NYFW include Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Carolina Herrera, Khaite, Jason Wu, Sergio Hudson, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Brandon Maxwell, and LaQuan Smith. Ralph Lauren and Proenza Schouler will also present their collections during the event.
Other designers showing on Tommy Hilfiger’s date, Sept. 8, include Ulla Johnson, PHS, Off-White, Jason Wu Collection, Sandy Liang, Bach Mai, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Eckhaus Latta.
