The standout shows of Spring 2023 Men’s season in Paris is about an even split between exciting young designers, like those at Egonlab and Rhude, and under-sung masters who have been quietly putting out excellent work for decades but who have only recently been earning the international acclaim they deserve. This latter distinction is the case with our our two leading collections – Maison Mihara Yasuhiro and Kolor – who, though they achieved different results, began from similar approaches of rewriting a vintage design vocabulary through layering and hybridity to create something distinctly modern.
