Tastefully updated, the iconic ballet flat steps back into the spotlight
Tory Burch is bringing back her iconic Reva ballet flat, launching exclusively on SSENSE globally April 17. The beloved shoe—originally released in 2006 and named after Tory’s mother—was a defining accessory of early-2000s city style. Now, it’s reimagined for today with a sleeker silhouette, beveled hardware, and even a new mule version in glossy patent leather.
Making a surprise appearance on the Spring 2025 runway, the Reva flat’s comeback is tied to SSENSE’s exclusive partnership as the North American retail partner for the collection.
Liana Satenstein, a longtime fan who once wore Revas to her wedding after-party, interviewed Tory for SSENSE’s editorial feature. “The Reva flat has undergone a cultural renaissance,” she writes. “It now feels like the footwear of women who guzzle martinis at Cervo’s after a day of vintage shopping.”
“We loved the original Reva,” says Burch, “but how do you touch something that was very classic to the brand and make it relevant for where we are today?”
Brigitte Chartrand, Vice President of Womenswear Buying at SSENSE, adds: “We’re always looking for ways to meet demand while applying our unique point of view… Tory bringing back the iconic Reva flat in a really modern way—for example, styling it with judo pants on the runway, and adopting a new mule-style—does exactly that.”
Photographed by John Yuyi, the campaign captures models Margeaux Labat, Micaela Wittman, and Renée Bellerive spinning through a New York skyscraper’s revolving door in sheer knits and sequined swimsuits—Revas in motion.
The Reva ballet flat ($348) and Reva ballet mule ($268) debut on SSENSE.com and the app April 17, with a wider release on ToryBurch.com later this month.
