The Fitness Guru Enters the Luxury Athletics Market
Entrepreneur and fitness expert Tracy Anderson is set to debut her own activewear line, the Tracy Anderson Collection, launching with the introduction of the Power Mesh Shrug on Thursday.
Designed to maintain muscle warmth during Anderson’s arm sequences, the Power Mesh Shrug is available in two colorways—black and beige—crafted from a luxurious high-performance fabric, retailing at $95.
Speaking to her design goals for the collection, Anderson said, “Activewear should feel like a second skin. When you’re moving with me, the goal is always to find freedom in motion. That’s why I’m excited to announce this new line of only essentials. For me, the finest activewear indulges in simplicity — lines, flattering fits, first-class comfort.”
The Power Mesh Shrug is the inaugural piece in a comprehensive 12-piece collection, featuring seven distinct styles, including shrugs, unitards, leotards, and two-piece sets. A new item will be introduced weekly as part of the collection.
Produced in-house and manufactured in the U.S. and Italy, the Tracy Anderson Collection will be available for purchase on tracyanderson.com, Tracy Anderson Studios, and, starting in February, at Bergdorf Goodman. The price range for the collection spans from $75 to $250.
While Anderson has previously collaborated with notable brands and retailers like Barneys New York, QVC, and Bloch, this marks her first independent foray into apparel design. The collection aims for sustainability, utilizing recycled nylons, recycled polyester, eco-friendly cotton, recycled power mesh, and other sustainable fabrics. Hardware such as buttons and zippers are sourced from an Italian factory with associations with renowned brands like Louis Vuitton, Celine, and Khaite. Tracy Anderson plans to release two to four drops per year, with sizes ranging from XXS to XL.
