Review of Valentino ‘Toile Iconographe‘ Fall 2022 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli with Photographer Steven Meisel with models Alaato Jazyper, Cas Van Uytvanck, Kristen McMenamy, Sora Choi
Valentino celebrates the arrival of a new icon with its Toile Iconographe campaign by photographer Steven Meisel.
The campaign highlights the house’s toile monogram pattern, which has been a central motif in creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s recent runway collections. Meisel’s campaign images channel the energy of 70s fashion editorials while keeping things visually pared back to leave space for the bold graphical repetition of the star toile pattern. The obsessiveness with branding and iconographic repetition finds an echo in the horizontal logo that finishes off each image.
