The collaboration draws on traditional Japanese techniques and premium detailing
OTW by Vans has released its sixth collaboration with FDMTL, the Japanese brand recognized for its use of traditional handcraft techniques and detailed denim construction. The latest collection features two footwear models: the Old Skool 36 EK and the Half Cab 33 EK.
The collaboration centers around the Japanese Sashiko technique, a method of decorative reinforcement stitching layered over fabric. For this release, OTW by Vans and FDMTL applied a Sashiko-inspired motif using Vans’ Engineered Knit technology.
The Old Skool 36 EK includes white stitching details, punched eyelets, a Citadel-colored outsole, and Marshmallow foxing. The Half Cab 33 EK features similar construction, along with a custom FDMTL woven hang flag.
