OTW by Vans and S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. Unveil A Sculptural Drop Inspired By Dutch Heritage
Vans’ OTW label and S.R. Studio. LA. CA. have teamed up once again, launching a new collaboration that brings together artist Sterling Ruby’s personal history with OTW’s forward-thinking design ethos.
At the core of the release is a new design called the Future Clog, a hybrid footwear silhouette combining the simplicity of a mule with the structure of a Dutch wooden clog. The design introduces a form that is both visually striking and functional. Complementing the centerpiece is a selection of updated Vans staples—the Old Skool and Authentic—alongside a capsule of marbled yellow-toned apparel.
The apparel selection includes a hockey jersey, travel bag, and socks, all featuring co-branded elements from OTW by Vans and S.R. Studio. LA. CA.
Ruby drew on personal memories when conceptualizing the Future Clog. “The maternal side of my family lives in the Netherlands, so I have visited countless times. I fondly remember my grandfather wearing clogs while working in his shop, making gardening tools that were painted bright green. I wanted to honor the tradition of Dutch clogs while pushing them into the future—creating a bold form that remains true to its roots.”
