Spring 2025 Ad Campaign

Review of Versace Spring 2025 Ad Campaign by Art Directors Ezra Petronio & Lana Petrusevych and Photographers Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott with models Chen Yang – Model, Loli Bahia, Mona Tougaard & Tristan Watkins

Versace explores psychedelic and soulful connection with its Spring 2025 campaign. Intimate and quietly colorful, the campaign features art direction from Ezra Petronio and Lana Petrusevych with photography by Mert & Marcus.

The portraits find their stars in an intimate interior space that feels like an extension of the collection itself, which explored an elevated take on the free-spirited 70s through flower power, bell bottoms, and groovily psychedelic patterns.

But it’s in the accompanying video – even though it only clocks in at 10 seconds – that the campaign really comes to life. Through clever split-screen editing that cuts in time with a ticking clock, the narrative explores physical manifestations of expectation and curiosity: the characters fidget with a ring, bite their nails, tap their toes. As the story concludes only to begin anew, the tension culminates into a final, open-ended question: “Can I ask you something?”

It’s thoroughly impressive how the brand is able to fit such a strong sense of narrative and character into such a brief timespan, pointing to limitless forking paths of emotional stories while bringing them all under one unified brand aesthetic. It’s rare that we see videos that feel both cinematically narrative-driven and perfect for the breezy and bite-sized medium of Instagram stories or TikTok, but this campaign nails that balance.
