Virgil Abloh Releases New Men's Jewelry for Louis Vuitton
Virgil Abloh has released his first Louis Vuitton jewelry campaign. Abloh has had a chain trend since his debut show, and has now reinterpreted a line of monochrome jumbo chains from Spring 19. According to Abloh, the collection is “a reinterpretation of classic menswear chains that debuted during the men’s Spring 2019 show across various accessories and leather goods.”
The line is inspired by Cuban links, jewelry that has cultural connotations, associated with hip-hop and skater boys. The timeless Cuban link is now reincarnated by Virgil Abloh, in the form of pendants, bracelets, and rings.
The campaign is simple and in your face, featuring a series of model shots and campaign shots. The shots are in your face, the products are big, and the models are not shy to make eye contact—representing everything there is to know about hip hop and skate culture.
