Vivienne Westwood

Spring 2023 Ad Campaign

Review of Vivienne Westwood Spring 2023 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Dovile Drizyte with Photographer Juergen Teller

Vivienne Westwood celebrates the community around the legacy of its legendary founder with a playfully punk Spring 2023 campaign. The campaign was shot by photographer Juergen Teller with creative direction from Dovile Drizyte.

Teller’s unvarnished, off-the-cuff photography style is a perfect fit for Vivienne Westwood’s unbounded punk spirit and the rag-tag gang of spunky personalities who embody it. The casting is diverse in age, gender expression color, whatever, but effortlessly so. Teller captures these eclectic characters in both an all-black theater space, which puts the focus entirely on the designs’ synthesis of disciplined craft and craziness, as well as against the gritty urban landscape of London – their natural habitat.

While we’re still sad about the great Vivienne Westwood’s passing, we’re joyful to see that her spirit lives on. This campaign is a statement that as long as people can come together and wear clothes, there will be accepting and audacious communities of individuals who support each other’s commitments to be as true to themselves as possible.
