The Editor Brings Extensive Experience in Fashion Publishing to the Condé Nast Role
Condé Nast has announced Claire Thomson-Jonville as the new Head of Editorial Content for Vogue France, effective February 3. Thomson-Jonville, who will be based in Paris, is set to oversee the vision and content across all the title’s platforms.
Anna Wintour, Chief Content Officer and Global Editorial Director at Vogue, praised Thomson-Jonville’s appointment, saying, “Claire brings a depth of experience as a stylist, fashion editor, and journalist, and she has an incredibly exciting vision for Vogue France. Maintaining its French character is of paramount importance to her, as is the discovery of new talent in fashion, wellness, beauty, arts, and culture. She is already off to a wonderful start and I am excited to see the title reflect her sensibility and point of view.”
Thomson-Jonville’s career in the fashion industry is extensive. After studying law at the University of Edinburgh and participating in an exchange program at the Sorbonne University in Paris, she joined Self Service Magazine and Petronio Associates. She ascended to the position of Editor-in-Chief at Self Service Magazine and later founded CTJ Creative in 2018, a creative agency focused on fashion and beauty brand consultancy. More recently, in 2023, she founded Out of State, a global experiential retreat focusing on holistic wellness.
In 2020, Thomson-Jonville served as the Editorial Director of i-D France and joined the Vogue network in September 2024 as a Global Contributing Editor. Her first major project was overseeing the December 2024/January 2025 issue of Vogue France, titled “La Renaissance du Chic,” which featured photography by Mert & Marcus and styling by Alastair McKimm.
Regarding her new role, Thomson-Jonville commented, “It’s an incredible honor to step into the role of Head of Editorial Content of Vogue France, a title that has always been at the forefront of creativity and cultural conversation. I’m looking forward to curating a platform that celebrates bold ideas, elevates new perspectives, and continues to redefine the intersection of fashion, lifestyle, and innovation. Vogue has always been about pushing boundaries, and I’m thrilled to build it with this extraordinary team by my side.”
Thomson-Jonville succeeds Eugénie Trochu, who left the position in December. Her role is part of a revamped editorial structure implemented across Condé Nast’s European titles in 2021, aiming to create content that resonates on a global scale while maintaining the unique character of each edition.
