Willy Chavarria Brings Personal Lens to adidas Originals SS25

A Collection that pairs athletic heritage with cultural storytelling

Adidas Originals and designer Willy Chavarria have teamed up once again, unveiling their Spring/Summer 2025 collection, which launches in two drops this May and July. The collaboration continues to blend Chavarria’s structured streetwear aesthetic with adidas’ athletic foundations across apparel and footwear.

Footwear highlights include Chavarria’s take on the archival Jabbar sneaker — originally created in 1978 for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The updated versions, the Chavarria Jabbar Low and Jabbar Dress, aim to reintroduce the silhouette to a new generation while honoring Abdul-Jabbar’s legacy.

The apparel offering spans both men’s and women’s styles, featuring pieces like the Chicano Sweatshirt, Football Jersey, Wide Leg Trackpant, Polo, and Heavy Weight Hoodie. A second wave of releases in July will introduce additions such as the Poplin Trackpant, Basketball Jersey, and Gym Short.

Alongside the products, the campaign for SS25 turns its focus toward South Central Los Angeles, with themes of love, legacy, and community at its core. Shot by LA-based photographer Carlos Jaramillo, the imagery features adidas athletes Candace Parker and Skyy Clark, and actor Alejandro Speitzer.

“adidas’ place in Chicano culture is a bit of an untold story,” said Chavarria. “I love sharing this iconic brand in a way that reflects how I wore it growing up and how we wear it now. Working with my close friends and extended family on this project in LA was a powerful and personal experience. It allowed me to capture the beauty of our Brown brothers and sisters against the backdrop that is home to so many of us.”

The adidas Originals x Willy Chavarria SS25 collection is now available at select adidas stores, willychavarria.com, the CONFIRMED app, and adidas.com/willy_chavarria. The first drop lands May 8, followed by the second on July 10.
