Y-3 Unveils Sporty Spring Collection at Paris Fashion Show
Star soccer players Garrett Wilson, Naomi Feller, Fuka Nagano, Joel Chima, and skateboarder Marco Montoya showcased Y-3’s latest collection on the catwalk in Paris. This marked the brand’s return to a fashion show format after five-and-a-half years.
The show’s timing was fitting as it coincided with the upcoming Paris Olympics in late July. Y-3, a collaboration between Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas, was born 22 years ago from the fusion of sport and style.
Speaking about the brand in the show notes, Yamamoto stated, “Y-3 was born from the fusion of the seeming opposites of sport and style. Together with Adidas we worked on forming something that didn’t exist and that foresaw the future.”
During the show, Y-3 unveiled the Japanese Football Association’s official on-pitch jersey for home and away games, continuing to elevate luxury athleisure.
The spring collection showcased garments crafted around aeration, reflex, and superposition design principles, echoing Adidas’ signature stripes. The collection featured a mix of sartorial tailoring and technical wear in black, gray, navy, lime, azure, and red hues.
The footwear in the collection drew attention, with the Y-3 Regu and the Y-3 Zodai models offering new interpretations of classic Adidas sneakers created in collaboration with Yamamoto.
